German wind OEM Nordex Group has signed a contract for a 150MW project in the US state of Texas from an unnamed independent power producer.
The manufacturer signed the deal for the supply of 48 turbines from its Acciona Windpower brand AW125/3150 series still in December.
Nordex plans to deliver the first turbines for the Texas wind farm in the third quarter of 2019.
The turbine maker in 2017 had an 11% market share in the US. Figures for 2018 aren’t known yet.
Also still during the last quarter of 2018, Nordex has received an order from Swedish utility Vattenfall for the supply and installation of 13 Nordex brand turbines for two different projects in the Netherlands with a combined capacity of 49MW.
The OEM will deliver six of its N117/3675 machines to the 22MW Haringvliet project, and another seven N131/3900 turbines to the 27MW Moerdijk project.
The Dutch orders include a two-year service agreement, with the option for a 23-year extension.
"Vattenfall is a strong and important partner for our activities in Europe and especially in the Netherlands. This order means that in the coming years we will be installing almost 350MW in Holland for Vattenfall alone," says Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa.
