'We see clear improvements in our approach to challenges'

Mary Quaney was among the Mainstream team who took to the stage at Renewable UK’s 2019 Global Offshore Wind conference in June, presenting our forecasts for growth in Vietnam and addressing a World Bank delegation in a Q&A panel session.

Our Chief Financial Officer also found time to speak to Widesight’s Nova Garabetian about the company’s development plans and how we assess the risks of emerging markets.

She said: “We’re very much an emerging growth markets player, so we go into countries where we see a huge amount of potential for the future, and our focus is very much on expanding our existing pipeline in Asia and growing it very ambitiously.

“We are a development company at our core, that’s our DNA. We’re entrepreneurial and innovative, so we will look at the fundamentals of a market - where we see the potential for growth in the short, medium and longer term. Often we would take a long-term view.”

And Mary explained how Mainstream is reaping the benefits of being part of GWEC's Women in Wind programme, adding: “We see clear improvements in teams, in our approach to challenges, and we’re looking forward to seeing improvements in the industry over the coming timeframe.”
